PEOPLE where she was thinking of tying the knot, she cheerily replied, “I would love to get married in Mi-am-i (she sang). My family is in Sunny Isles. I would love to start looking in Miami, but I don’t know about his family. They’re all afraid of the humidity.” The University of Miami alum was quick to jump to Miami’s defense, since she happily resided here for over 20 years. Patti was able to recall all her favorite spots, as if she never left, and didn’t hold back. “Prime One Twelve is my favorite steakhouse, Myles and I go way back. I’m a big fan of Bella Luna in the Aventura Mall. I love my Christine Lee’s at the racetrack... I love the fact that you can go off and have a Cuban sandwich with those little French fries on any little street corner. I love the Brazilian element, Fogo de Chão…” Thoroughly amused, I laughed as she went on with her list. “I know my Miami, girl! I know it. I know it,” Patti affably laughed. Patti divulged that it was terrifying for her to leave her job’s great salary, commission, 401K, pension and insurance plan. “It was the first time in my life that I had ever done that… I took a risk.” Fortunately, her precarious leap paid off exponentially. One must wonder, how many people with an expendable income would Patti have to amass a year to procure a steady wage? In the beginning, she took “one or two a month at $10,000-$15,000 a client — around 10 clients a year. It was just me. I didn’t have an assistant. It paid my bills for the month. I got to work, hang out, and have a good time,” Patti reminisced. “Now, I have no time. I don’t know which is better, to be making less money and having more free time or vice versa,” Patti light-heartedly pondered. Now, The Millionaire’s Club takes on 5 -10 clients a month, and up to 120 a year with the assistance of offices in Canada and the U.K. “I take about one per month myself at $55,000 and up, depending on what programs you want. I’m there every step of the way. But I’m fast; when you come to me usually by the third girl you’re done,” stated Patti confidently. Hollywood has plenty of bachelors and bachelorettes to fix up —which celebrities would Patti like to fix up? “I think now it’s “My best kept indulgence is TiVo. I watch all my favorite shows like Big Love, True Blood and Secret Diary of a Call Girl (she whispered), which I’m in love with right now. Modern Family is also really good. After that, I get massages. I’m a foot massage junkie.” going to be Sandra Bullock. I am shocked that he cheated on her. After the whole speech, ‘he has my back,’ bullshit. It’s like, Ohimigod, come to Mama. I want to console you. I’ll have Kate Winslet to the right, Jennifer Aniston to the left and Sandra on my lap and Mama’s open for business!” But Patti wouldn’t choose a man in Hollywood, instead she sees them with “hoteliers, venture capitalists, people that aren’t necessarily in the limelight, yet they can walk in it because they’re businesses are supporting the economy.” Season 3 of The Millionaire Matchmaker captures Patti planning her impending wedding. You might be surprised to learn that this millionairess is proof that matchmaking works, as fiancé Andy Friedman and her were introduced through her own matchmaker. Though Andy is not a millionaire, Patti fondly described him as “a M.I.T. Millionaire in Training —on paper he has a lot of investments…He’s a great guy and what he gives me you can’t buy,” she gushed. The date and location of the nuptials were still undecided at the time of the interview, but when I asked the beautiful bride-to-be TIPS FROM THE MILLIONAIRE MATCHMAKER • Men want the three M’s: Madonna in the bedroom, Martha Stewart in the kitchen, and Mary Poppins in the nursery. You have to become some kind of combination of that. • Pick your battles. Don’t call him on every little thing. You don’t want to be nudgey girl. • He will never leave you if you can cook for him. Every girl must master the art of the omelet. He can bring the bagels and you make the omelet. • For the men, the men need to become gentlemen. We want to see manners, they’re free. We want you to call us in advance for a date, because the best part of the date is planning what you’re going to freakin’ wear and getting your hair and nails done. Take that away from me and you kill 50% of the deal and we can’t fall in love with you. For more tips, pick up a copy of, Become Your Own Matchmaker at your local bookstore or online at Amazon. Look out for Season 4, which begins filming this summer in New York.
