SCOOP Hilary Swank & Jessica Alba rubbed elbows at an Audi party at the W. Celine Dion premiered a concert movie on South Beach. Guy Fieri closed out SoBe with his Luna En Fuego Party at the Gans. performance by Drake, and drew out will.i.am, Nelly, Jermaine Dupri, and Joey Fatone. Things peaked and got beyond-H-O-T on Super Bowl Saturday, with Michael Bay hosting a private party at his Miami Beach home for the likes of Chace Crawford, Kellan Lutz, AnnaLynne McCord, Russell Simmons, and Gossip Girl power pair Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr, among others. The Raleigh hosted The Maxim Party, which brought out Olivia Munn, McG, Lutz and his boys, 90210’s Trevor Donovan and singer Gavin DeGraw, the Hills girls (Kristin Cavallari, Audrina Patridge, Lo Bosworth, and Stephanie Pratt), and others like Amanda Bynes, Ryan Cabrera, Josh Henderson, and Tom Arnold. The Playboy party at the Sagamore was a bit of a bust from my perspective, given that Holly Montag was the only so-called star to arrive before 2 a.m. Eventually, the Black Eyed Peas showed to party after their concert at the AAA. Just like in 2007, the It party of the weekend was the truly exclusive CAA party at the W: It brought out Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes, Cameron Diaz, A- Rod, Andy Roddick, Hilary Swank, Harry Connick Jr., Carrie Underwood (who sang the National Anthem at the game), and Chris Daughtry. Eschewing the limelight were Brangelina. Yes, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie sneaked into town to support the Saints, and had a quiet Saturday night meal at my favorite restaurant (!) on the beach, Joe Allen. Ditto Blake Lively and Penn Badgley, who sneaked into town and holed up at the ’bleau. John Travolta also was spotted in Miami on Super Bowl Sunday, brunching at the Ritz-Carlton, Key Biscayne. Ditto Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, who joined their peers at the renamed Sun Life Stadium for the big game. Later in the month, reality TV star-turned- bestselling author Lauren Conrad promoted her work with m.powerment by mark and her new book at FIU, and a week later, 90210’s Shenae Grimes visited the campus to launch a L.e.i. Model Citizen Contest. Celine Dion premiered Celine: Through the Eyes of the World at the Regal South Beach 18, while up-and-comers Alice Eve and Krysten Ritter promoted She’s Out of My League at AMC Sunset Place 24. And, to finish, already, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival brought to town a Who’s Who of the culinary world, including Rachael Ray, who hosted the Amstel Light Burger Bash at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach; the one and only Emeril Lagasse, who hosted the Perrier-Jouët BubbleQ at the Delano; as well as Paula Deen, Katie Lee, Bobby Flay, and Guy Fieri, among others. As usual, “SoBe” was quite the yummy affair. There you go – another big ol’ hearty serving of Star Sightings…and without mention of Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian, who arrived in town early in March ready to take back Miami. Until next time, and have fun! MIAMI LIVING 143
