STYLE Vegas Style Guide Here is your glamorous, foolproof packing list for a weekend in Vegas Words by Jeni Elizabeth Most of you who travel to Vegas are going to take chances. Chances with your luck, chances at the club, chances in the sun… The last thing you want to take a chance on is what you have with you when you arrive in Sin City. I'll let you in on a secret; nothing that happens in Vegas really stays in Vegas for forever. What you wear and what you take along with you will define your trip, because if you forget something and have to buy it, that's one less bottle you're ordering at the club, or two for that matter. So, as you head into your closet to grab your Gucci weekender bag, (don't forget girls, this is a very important moment not to be taken lightly) make sure you grab all of these important items. 1) Your third favorite pair of heels. Your first and second ones don't need to be ruined walking along the strip or in the club. They deserve better than that. 2) Your shortest, tightest, and most revealing cocktail dress. The more covered you are the less attention you're going to get. Chances are if you're going to Vegas for the weekend, it's not to visit your grandparents and stroll around with them antiquing. So think short, tight and FUN (when you think tight you should ask yourself if the next item you should be packing is Spanx). 3) Next you should be reaching for your knee-high socks. If you don't own a pair you should leave your house right now and go get some. I don't care who you are or how amazing you think you are, knee-highs bring more comfort to my life than chamomile tea. They are amazing to throw on at night when you get back to the hotel and your feet are killing you from the club. They'll warm you up, add cozy to your life and make you feel right at home in your hotel room. 80 MIAMI LIVING 4) Next, of course, is the "itsy-bitsy-teeny- weenie-yellow-polka-dot-bikini" or pink. Doesn't matter, as long as it's polka dotted it should make its way in there along with AT LEAST 15 SPF sun block. Ending up in the burn unit is not going to be a good look for you, and it's not going to match your Hermès. My mother always said, "If you're putting on a bathing suit Jeni, you should be putting on sunblock." I know you can hear that voice too! You'll also need a cover-up —a super cute pair of shorts and tee will work, they're coming off anyway. 5) You need one pair of go-to jeans. Since you're already making a statement with the cocktail dress and the "itsy-bitsy" swimwear, I think you should lean more toward the boyfriend jeans and a couple of comfy cozy, yet sexy T-shirts to pair with them. There is nothing sexier to a guy than a girl who can get all glammed up at night and look amazing, and look just as amazing the next day in a simple pair of jeans and a tee. Don't overdo it for the daytime. Remember, the guy you're probably trying to impress is most likely still sleeping anyway, and your girlfriends love you for you, right? 6) You need a great hat (think Fedora) and a large pair of Chloé sunglasses to hide how badly your eyes hate the sun, before and after the alcohol. 7) Don't forget a cozy pair of PJs. This is a vacation, you want to be comfortable. 8) Lastly, never leave home without an amazing scarf… or three. I have found that a scarf can really make or break an outfit. I also recently I decided it's the best accessory right after bangles. Scarves are easy and there are a million ways to wear them. So grab a couple on the way out the door, they're tiny so a lot will fit into your bag, throw on your sparkle converse and out you go! Try to remember that nothing Celebrity & Telveision Stylist Jeni Elizabeth you bring is going to look good on you, or anyone for that matter, if it's not worn with the right amount of sleep and smiles.
