FOOD Executive Chef Aaron Taylor Words by Claudia Paredes MIA + STK = VIP The Secret Ingredient? Live glamorously, eat & drink like the rich and famous do –in Miami, this is all possible. Located just off the chic Gansevoort South Beach Hotel, STK brings together the pulse of NYC and the rhythmic culture of South Beach; it's a perfect combination for an unforgettable time. The ONE Group's STK in Miami is a stylish diversion from the traditional steakhouse ambience. The interior's nude tones are complemented by the natural gray suede and sophisticated white leather. STK blends the sun-bleached pale of Miami with its signature décor, resulting in an inviting and stylish environment featuring a soft, relaxed and muted combination of natural colors. This fabulous interior was designed by the best of the best, award-winning firm ICRAVE. The surroundings are sleek, sensual, and elegant —South Beach would not be the same without this venue. Guests are always guaranteed to have a great time. As you enter there is a catwalk across the back bar which delivers a dramatic production as guests ascend to the mezzanine level of the restaurant. There is also a glazed screen which depicts an abstract shape of a woman's body. This sexy image spans the double height space of the main atrium and reflects off the glass. Upstairs, there is a second dining room 80 MIAMI LIVING complete with a bar and private dining space which overlooks the main area. Guests can choose to discreetly observe the Miami social scene or be the center of it. This is the place where celebrities like Sean Penn, Kendra Wilkinson, Justin Bieber and a select few, dine and snack. STK Miami has a capacity to seat 280 people; has 3 private dining rooms, and 4 bars including the Lobby Bar, Coco De Ville, and the Lounge & Gallery Bar. There is space for the entire glamorous Miami social scene here. The ground floor is where the 1,500 sq ft Coco de Ville energy bar is, which is transported from the celebrity- studded bar in LA, and everything is found adjacent to STK. This bar is perfect for guests looking for glamour, casual dining and its own professional DJ. Try some of STK's signature dishes such as the Shrimp Rice Krispies, and the Foie Gras French Toast. Have a craving for juicy cuts? Try the Cowboy Rib Steak. Looking for a little local Miami flavor? Taste the Avocado & Citrus Salad, or the Grilled Octopus, which is the most exotic dish on the menu according to Executive Chef Aaron Taylor. And for dessert the Molten S'mores – Vanilla Ice Cream, Peanut Butter, Marshmallow & Graham is a sweet delight. And if you are just looking for STK signature drink, then Strawberry Rhubarb is what to order. "I recommend guests try the Passion Fruit Glazed Sea Bass because it is a very nice balance of a rich tender fish with a sweet and salty glaze. If they are in the mood for steak I would recommend the Prime dry aged 20 oz bone in ribeye, an amazing steak!" said Chef Aaron Taylor. STK offers a perfect environment for private events such as birthday parties, anniversaries, and other celebrations. There are seven semi-private and private dining rooms with seating accommodations for groups as small as 12 or as large as 250. Each room has a unique décor, and matches the Miamian lifestyle. Blaze Starr is chic with pool tables, leather banquettes, and flat screen TVs. The Mezzanine Balconies transform into one, two or three separate dining rooms. And Coco de Ville is a VIP lounge where guests can eat dinner, grab a drink at the bar, and dance the night away to the catchy beats spun by world- class DJs. Nevertheless, such a classy and glamorous environment would not be complete without master chef: Aaron Taylor. Taylor is the Executive Chef of the ONE Group's STK Miami. He has over 12 years of culinary experience, which he acquired from various esteemed restaurants around the United States. What is his secret to his tasty dishes?
