SCOOP Miami Star Report Words by Martin Haro I kick off this dispatch of Star Sightings fresh off the arms – well, handshake – of one Ben Cohen. And I likey the memory. The hot-dish British rugby player who established a foundation to fight the bullying of LGBT teens, was honored with a humanitarian award during Sparkle, The Task Force's annual Miami Recognition Dinner, held once again at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach last October. Retired baseballer Billy Bean presented Cohen with his award in front of an audience 1,000-people strong that included fellow honorees Georg Ketelhohn, Pam Grier and Elaine Lancaster. Cohen and Grier also attended the day- after Sparkle brunch at the Shore Club, celebrating the dinner's success with Task Force leadership and volunteers. Elsewhere on South Beach, on Lincoln Road, Anjelica Huston shared a lunch with Kelly Lynch at Books & Books Café. Meanwhile, up at Port Everglades, Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek, and Jeffrey Katzenberg premiered Puss in Boots aboard the Allure of the Seas, while a couple of members of *NSYNC (Lance Bass and Joey Fatone) celebrated the birthday of another (Chris Kirkpatrick) at LIV at the 'bleau. Nick Cannon also partied for his b-day at the resort's still-sooo-has-It club, with MC Lyte and Ross One, but Mýa celebrated at Mansion for hers. Ah, but it was only a matter of days before the action shifted by to LIV as Foster the People performed at the club – on a Monday, if memory serves, which was loco – with Lil Jon and Danny Huston in the house. Another Lil – Lil Wayne – also hung out at the club a few days later. Elsewhere at the Fontainebleau, Chris and Adrienne Bosh had a dinner date at Scarpetta. Andy Hilfiger promoted Andrew Charles, his rock 'n' roll-inspired line, at Macy's at Aventura Mall. Going into November, we got a little more rock in the form of Joan Jett, the honoree at the 2011 Make-A-Wish Ball pre-event dinner at The Forge that Shareef Malnik and Gabrielle Anwar hosted. Then, natch, came time for the restaurateur and the Burn Notice star to hit the ball at the InterContinental Hotel downtown, he in his capacity as its chairman and she as its celebrity auctioneer for guests like Lea Black, Elsa Benitez, Sammy Sosa, and Andy Hilfiger. George Clooney's ex, Elisabetta Canalis, helped David Manero open an outpost of Vic & Angelo's on South Beach, with Sopranos star Tony Sirico and New Kid on the Block Danny Wood in the house. Kelly Osbourne arrived in Miami for a model search for Material Girl, Madonna's clothing line, at Macy's at Dadeland Mall. The E! starlet stopped by Zuma Miami for a little din-din with friends and was also spotted getting into the groove at LIV before she somehow hit her head and ended up at Mercy Hospital. Taboo, y' know…from the Black Eyed Peas, DJd at Amnesia, which reopened on South Beach last fall. Korn rocked the house at The Fillmore Miami Beach at Jackie Gleason Theater. Christian Siriano unveiled his Fall STAR SIGHTINGS Rihanna rang in 2012 at Diddy's private party in Miami. LeBron James popped the big question to his longtime gf at the Shelborne South Beach during New Year's Eve. 108 MIAMI LIVING Robin Thicke performed and ran in the new year at the Delano.
