ON THE SCENE Celebrate the fête of the season in Cannes Nikki's 10th Words by Martin Haro Hey girl, hey boy – what are y'all doing this May 18-27? Well, if your answer is "Going to Cannes," mine is "Take me with ya!" That's because that little global luxury lifestyle brand known as Nikki Beach is goin' throw itself the bash of the season to celebrate its 10th anniversary during one of the world's swankiest events: the Cannes Film Festival. Not bad, huh? Who knows, you may rub elbows with Pedro Almodóvar, or Naomi Campbell, or end up partying on a yacht with Bono, Diddy, or Paris Hilton, or run into, oh-I- dunno, Ryan friggin' Gosling out on the Croisette and then dance all night at La Plage at the Grand Hôtel or the even-more- exclusive Terrasse space on the rooftop of the Palais Stéphanie, JW Marriott. You must admit, that sounds like reason enough to combine some credit cards and book a journey to the French Riviera double- pronto. 'Cause if we known anything about Nikki Beach, it's that the powers that be (who are still headquartered in the Magic City) know how to have a good time. To celebrate with 'em and a bunch of the celebs that have helped make the brand what it is today – Nikki Beach is the place to be at in fantastic locales like St. Barths, St. Tropez, Cabo, Koh Samui, and Mallorca – start by barking up the right tree to get on that list for Cannes. Nikki Beach La Plage promises to be the hot spot during the festival with all its free-flowing Champagne and thrilling playlists. Picture it: You're there, waiting on a refill when Dita Von Teese compliments you on your sky-high Zanottis. Or Harrison Ford taps on your shoulder to ask if you wouldn't mind scoring his wife Calista Flockhart another Perrier. And right there, in that corner over there, Jean-Paul Gaultier is waving at you because he thinks you're someone that he used to know (and he waves you over so you can meet Scarlett Johansson and Michelle Yeoh, with whom he's in conversation). Sounds like fun, sexy time to me. La Plage will be open for lunch, dinner and late-night small bites. Meanwhile, at La Terrasse, you're enjoying the breathtakingly stunning views of La Croisette and the Mediterranean. You listen and wonder in private as Adrian Grenier and Eva Longoria rag on the latest Hollywood girl gone bad…and whether she'll borrow someone's Cavalli to try and crash the party. Btw, La Terrace will be the location of choix for press junkets and for studios to hold their junkets (and it'll have a luxury gifting suite), so it is definitely going to be a good place to at least do some major star watching. And it will be open for brunch, lunch, happy hour, and dinner. That's how the other half lives, and for a few days this summer, you can have a taste of the fabulous life if you join in on Nikki Beach's celebration. C'mon – you know you want to, so ready your best resort wear and call that BFF with the private jet because this season, you should totally go all 1 percent and get into the Nikki groove. P.S.: And if you see the Beckhams, clobber skinny Victoria over the head and bring back David to Miami. We'll like, show him a fine time at the South Beach location (One Ocean Drive; 305-538-1111).
