The powertrain draws from technology used in Ferrari’s Formula 1 and World Endurance Championship programs. Its architecture is related to the 499P race car, which has delivered multiple victories for Ferrari at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The F80 also introduces electric turbo technology to a Ferrari road car. Electric motors positioned between the turbine and compressor of each turbocharger are designed to improve response at lower engine speeds. Aerodynamics play an equally important role. An active rear wing, rear diffuser, flat underbody, front triplane wing and S-Duct work together to generate up to 1,000 kilograms of downforce at 250 km/h. An electric front axle provides all-wheel drive, while an active suspension system helps manage the car’s performance on both road and track.
