Event - AQUA Art Miami Aqua Art Miami has unveiled its 2026 participating exhibitors as the fair prepares to celebrate its milestone 20th edition at the Aqua Hotel in Miami Beach from December 2–6 during Miami Art Week, with tickets now on sale. For two decades, Aqua has transformed the classic South Beach hotel into an intimate contemporary art fair, with galleries taking over its rooms and works extending into the property’s open-air courtyard and rooftop. Marking 20 years as a distinctive fixture of Miami Art Week, this year 44 galleries from nine countries will bring rising and mid-career artists to Collins Avenue, with representation spanning Buenos Aires, New York, Shanghai, Milan, Paris, Zurich, and beyond. “Celebrating 20 years of Aqua is an incredible milestone for a fair that has always had such a distinct identity within Miami Art Week,” said Cordelia de Freitas, Director of Aqua Art Miami. “There is something special about discovering art in this setting, moving from room to room, into the courtyard and across the hotel, while connecting directly with galleries and artists. This year reflects what Aqua has always been about: creating an approachable, energetic environment for experiencing new voices and contemporary art in Miami Beach while celebrating the community who have shaped Aqua over the past two decades.” The 20th anniversary will bring a major new work to the Aqua Hotel itself from street art pioneer and activist Shepard Fairey, recipient of the 2026 Art Miami Lifetime Visionary Award. Fairey will transform the hotel’s exterior façade, creating a striking large-scale mural directly on the property. Over a career spanning more than four decades, Fairey has dissolved the boundaries between fine art, street culture, and political activism—from his iconic 1989 Andre the Giant Has a Posse sticker campaign, which evolved into the global OBEY movement, to his historic 2008 Barack Obama HOPE portrait, now housed in the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery. Guests will also be able to purchase Fairey’s signature prints and merchandise at his Obey shop, which will take over the Aqua lobby. Fairey will perform an exclusive DJ set during Aqua Art Miami’s VIP Preview on December 2, bringing his multidisciplinary practice into the fair’s 20th-anniversary opening-night celebration. His presence will extend across the Art Miami fair family, featuring an additional DJ set at CONTEXT Art Miami on December 1 and a curated presentation inside the Art Miami VIP Lounge showcasing key monumental moments, print editions, and fine art works from his global portfolio. The 2026 exhibitor lineup welcomes galleries from across the U.S. and internationally, with returning exhibitors including AFPA Gallery, Alessandro Berni Gallery, ACT Contemporary, AC Latin Art, Arch Enemy Arts, CST Gallery, D Fine Art Gallery, LAAP, IRREVERSIBLE PROJECTS, VAN LEEUWEN ART, VERTICAL GALLERY, and Francesco NEO. Across the hotel, galleries will present work by budding and mid-career artists spanning painting, sculpture, photography, mixed media, and other contemporary practices. Alessandro Berni Gallery will present contemporary artist Wencke Uhl, whose internationally exhibited practice draws from fashion, design, and representations of femininity, while House of Hues will showcase a highlight piece in the lobby with the rest of their significant works on display in Room 105. Their contemporary art magnifies cultural stories, creating conversations and fostering discovery and dialogue. Situated on iconic Collins Avenue, Aqua offers one of Miami Art Week’s most intimate and unmissable fair experiences. Artists transform the Aqua Hotel’s guest rooms into spaces of revelation, excitement, and conversation.
