Born and raised in Napa, California, Brooke left the family horse ranch to travel the country as a singer- songwriter. She had composed in diners, at the edge of the Grand Canyon, by campfires and at rodeos. In New Orleans, she decided Key West would be her last stop. She'd write a few songs, play a few dates, and leave with a tan. The time had come to grow up, be reasonable, and settle down.
