Charlotte Bistro 264 Miracle Mile Coral Gables, FL 33134 Phone: (305) 443-3003 Recently opened, Charlotte Bistro is run by Chef Elida Villarroel and hosts a cornucopia of French dishes. When I visited, the smell of crème brulee ran supreme and the sweet taste of vanilla ignited my tongue with bliss. To put it bluntly, I haven't been the same person since. In addition to traditional classics, Villarroel's menu is filled with a slew of modern twists. Everything here is a solid choice. Daddy O Hotel 9660 East Bay Harbor Drive Miami Beach, FL 33154 Phone: (305) 868-4141 Expected to open sometime after Santa makes his appearance in South Florida, the Daddy O Hotel embodies both posh design and lavish comfort. With 46 opulent rooms to choose from, filled with all of the bells and whistles Santa left behind, guests can easily find whatever they're looking for – rest and relaxation. With a name like the Daddy O, you know this place is grand. Exhale Mind Body Spa at the EPIC Residences + Hotel 270 Biscayne Boulevard Miami, FL 33131 Phone: (305) 423-3900 Are you overworked? They define a new breed of spa. Hotel Urbano 2500 Brickell Avenue Miami, FL 33129 Phone: (305) 854-2070 With an anticipated grand opening in late December, Hotel Urbano is expected to begin accepting reservations in early January 2010. Located next to Miami's downtown financial district, Hotel Urbano offers guests easy access to either the relaxed beach life of Key Biscayne or the social nightlife of South Beach. This boutique hotel offers 65 artistic rooms, which were designed by Marcie DeLaRosa, on three different floors. Brushes not included. La Palme d'Or at the Biltmore Hotel 1200 Anastasia Avenue Coral Gables, FL 33134 Phone: (305) 445-1926 If you're craving modern French cuisine then La Palme d'Or is for you! If you don't believe me, please consult the 2010 Zagat Miami/South Florida restaurant review. La Palme d'Or, led by their French-born chef Philippe Ruiz and head sommelier Sebastien Verrier, recently won the award(s) for the top restaurant for food, décor, and service. As I wet my palate, all I can say is Bon Appétit! Primo Pizzeria 3451 NE 1st Avenue, Suite 105 Miami, FL 33127 Phone: (305) 535-2555 It doesn't matter who you are, how old you are, or where you're from, the reality is everyone loves pizza! Primo Pizzeria's newest edition is located in the Shops of Midtown Miami. It serves the best traditional New York pizza anywhere in South Florida. And yes, the wait is well worth the final product. Your stomach will thank you time and time again. The Ivy at the Grove 3159 Commodore Plaza Coconut Grove, FL 33133 Phone: (305) 600-5453 Opened in the final days of October 2009, The Ivy at the Grove epitomizes elegant British cuisine. The Ivy opens daily at 11:30 am while offering dishes until 10:00 pm throughout the work week, and remains open until 11:00 pm for the weekend crowd. Make sure to try some of their signature dishes, which include Bang Bang Chicken, Salmon Fish Cakes, or Sticky Toffee Pudding as you fill one of their 535 available seats. Trina Turk 9700 Collins Avenue, Space E267 Bal Harbour, FL 33154 Phone: (305) 861-8044 Attention ladies! For those of you who've yet to be exposed to Trina Turk, her contemporary clothing is known for stylish prints and sleek slenderizing silhouettes. Since its October 2009 grand opening, the atmosphere of Trina Turk's boutique comes across more like a cocktail party meets pool party instead of the stereotypical stuffy mallosphere. On a personal note, I had to pry my wife out of the store. ML Just Opened As always, Miami brings you the best there is. Swing by these new places to see what all the buzz is about.
