18 MIAMI LIVIng Contributors MICHAEL JACK – InTERn/COnTRIbuTIng WRITER Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Michael Jack represents the true definition of the American Dream. More than ten years ago, Michael left Argentina to live in Miami. He made his name in the Miami Beach hospitality sector before returning to school full-time in Boston. Currently residing in Boston, Michael is a senior at Lesley University. Next spring he intends to graduate at the top of his class with a Bachelors of Science in Management and a specialization in Marketing, and plans to pursue an MBA post-graduation at a top MBA program. Michael absolutely loved the opportunity to intern at Miami Living. Interning at ML was an opportunity to reconnect with his Miami Beach roots. "Having the opportunity to write stories for ML's Health and Beauty Guide and ML Selects was a great experience. I thoroughly enjoyed being involved in the day-to-day business operations of an important magazine such as Miami Living and most of all, being part of such a great staff." IRAMA VALDES – COnTRIbuTIng WRITER Born in this gorgeous and sunny city, twenty-five-year old Cuban American Irama Valdes has been contributing to Miami Living now for over 4 years. Irama graduated cum-laude from Florida International University's School of Journalism and Mass Communication with a Bachelor in Journalism in 2007 and is currently in her last year of law school at St. Thomas University's School of Law. This freelance journalist has contributed many articles to ML from profiles on Miami's hottest clubs, restaurants and faces, the Brazilian Film Festival, Haiti Hats, Fantasy Fest, Viernes Culturales, and many other Miami-centered specials. Along with her love for the written word, she enjoys photography and travel. When her nose isn't stuck in a law book, she spends her time with her family and closest friends, enjoying her niece and nephew, playing board games, jamming to RockBand on her boyfriend's Xbox, and catching the midnight showing of the year's hottest movies. If you would like to contact Irama, give her tips for passing the Florida bar, or want her to write for your publication, you can email her at: valdes.irama@gmail.com. JEFFREY DELANNOY – PhOTOgRAPhER Boston raised photographer Jeffrey Delannoy has been capturing images since his teens. Jeffrey spent more than a decade in Europe, fulfilling his passion for the performing arts, by shooting theater, opera, dance, and cultural greats for music publications such as Rolling Stone, Visions, and the Frankfurter Allgemeine Magazine. His subjects have included Nobel Prize winners Dario Fo and Gunther Grass, Filmmaker Wim Wenders, Gore Vidal, Wilhem Dafoe and legendary bands, New Order, Buena Vista Social Club and The Roots. He's also worked in fashion with the likes of Armani, Trussardi, and Jean Paul Gaultier. Since returning to Miami as Senior Photographer for MAP Magazine, Jeffrey has continued to develop his vision in the worlds of fashion, culture, and art as a photographer and filmmaker. KRISTIN BULLOCK – ART DIRECTOR Raised in Montreal, Canada, Kristin Bullock has been greatly influenced by the French joie de vivre ideal that lives in her hometown and follows her throughout her travels. The city has instilled in her a deep appreciation for good food, friends, music, and of course, art and culture. Drawing came naturally to Kristin as a child, and developed into a passion for "good design" in all things. She graduated from the renowned Illustration & Design program at Montreal's Dawson College and has been Miami Living's Art Director for over 2 years now. Additionally, Kristin works as an independent graphic designer for both long and short term projects, allowing her the freedom to explore new design opportunities and develop a diverse clientele. "I'm passionate about good design, the kind that moves people and inspires them to take action." If you are interested in having something unique and sophisticated created, contact her at: kristinbullock@mac.com.
