Brandon Routh & Courtney Ford attended the screening of Fling during the 23rd Annual Fort Lauderdale Film Festival. Luis Miguel performed at the AmericanAirlines Arena. The Victoria's Secret Angels visited the VS store on Lincoln Road. Becki Newton (TV's Ugly Betty) and her husband Chris Diamantopoulos (USA's The Starter Wife), made it to the grand opening. Ditto BFF Sanaa Lathan and Gabrielle Union, Amanda Beard, Linda Cardellini, John Stamos, Jessica Szohr (TV's Gossip Girl), Diddy, and Brody Jenner. And there is more: Jessica Lowndes (TV's 90210), Michelle Trachtenberg, Jeff Gordon, Sofia Vergara, Amanda Bynes, Debbie Harry, and Paris Hilton were there, too. Josh Lucas, Kate Hudson, and Gwyneth frakkin' Paltrow also arrived in Miami for the occasion, which very clearly was a very big deal. Inside the hotel, I spotted Elizabeth Hurley's ex, millionaire Steven Bing, and Anthony Michael Hall. For more scoop on the grand opening of the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, visit http://moviemartin.blogspot.com, and click on the November 2008 archive. The resort's relaunch featured a secret performance inside one of its ballrooms by a "Grammy Award-winning global icon" who turned out to be none other than Mariah Carey. The singer delighted fans with 10 songs, both old ("Dreamlover") and new ("Touch My Body"). Catching Carey's hour-long show were Brett Ratner, who called her "the greatest voice of this generation" in his introduction, as well as Debbie Harry, Paris Hilton, Victoria's Secret model Angela Lindvall and L.A. party promoter Brent Bolthouse, her husband, Nick Cannon, and DJ Irie. The next day, on the day of the spectacular Victoria's Secret show, I caught Christian Siriano fixing a PR girl's dress in the lobby of the Fontainebleau. Later that night, I saw most all of the stars from the night before, plus Cassie, Mario Lopez, James Caan, Robert Duvall, George Hamilton, Scott Caan, Dave Annable (TV's Brothers & Sisters), Eva La Rue, Cee-Lo, Aubrey O'Day, Kyle McLachlan (TV's Desperate Housewives), and New York party promoters Richie Akiva and Scott Sartiano walking down the pink carpet. At the show's after-party at the hotel's spectacular nightclub, LIV, I held court right next to the star table, and I so kept my eyes and ears wide open for what Stacey Keibler and Geoff Stults, Robert Buckley and Jessica Lowndes, Jason Lewis and Jessica Szohr, and Dave Annable and Odette Yustman were doing. Notice that I paired these celebrities in couple—and that is because, aside from Keibler and Stults are, indeed, a couple, the other three were engaging in different levels of PDA, from touchy-feely dancing to full-on making out. Also at LIV, but not at the star table but at one of her own, was Paris Hilton. Über- Angel Heidi Klum and her husband Seal, Adriana Lima, and Selita Ebanks were there, too. Afterward, I was capping the night with a final glass of champs at the Blue Bar when I turned around and spotted models Carmen Kass and Isabeli Fontana. I approached Kass, and said, "You were great, but not in the show enough. You have the best walk…." And she just looked at me, Estonian cold in her eyes. So I even though I recognized this I continued, "I'd toast you, but I left my MIAMI LIVING 171 SCOOP
