MIAMI LIVING 95 PROFILE Conveniently nestled along Biscayne Boulevard in Miami's up-and-coming performing arts district, Biscayne Dental Group offers visitors an inviting and caring atmosphere to suit a variety of cosmetic and oral rehabilitation needs. Dr. Julio Hernandez and Dr. Rita Dargham are highly trained general dentists, each with a doctor of medical dentistry degree from the University of Florida. "We offer a wide range of services for the entire family," says Hernandez, who has more than a decade of experience in cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, and prosthodontics. These services include cosmetic work, such as veneers, all- porcelain crowns, in-office whitening, Botox and Juvederm; restorative work, such as tooth-colored fillings, crowns, bridges, implant crowns and dentures; periodontal work, such as gum recontouring, implant maintenance and hygiene maintenance; orthodontics, including Invisalign, clear braces, metal braces and retainers; oral surgery, such as extractions, wisdom teeth removal and dental implants; and adjunctive services, such as TMJ disorder treatment, night guards, fluoride trays and snoring appliances. Open for nearly eight and a half years, Biscayne Dental Group boasts a friendly staff with unparalleled knowledge and compassion. "Nothing sets us apart more than our friendly and caring environment," explains Hernandez. "Our patients feel like family." While some visits to the dentist can be frightening and uncomfortable, Biscayne Dental Group goes to great lengths to make its patients feel at ease from the moment they step in the door. The business offers a wide range of comforts, including nitrous oxide (or laughing gas), relaxation medication, massage chair, warm blankets, warm face towels, memory foam pillows, lumbar support pillows, aromatherapy, heated shoulder pillows, relaxation music, headphones, aloe-lip therapy, and hot coffee and tea. Cool and inviting, the office features baby- blue walls mixed with lime-green accents that give patients the relaxing feeling of being at the ocean. Bright, natural light shines in from multiple large windows with views of beautiful Biscayne Boulevard. "Our office chemistry cannot be replicated," stresses Hernandez. "The energy is positive and it's felt from the moment you walk in the door." New and returning patients are treated and given a very thorough exam and evaluation. "Most importantly, they can expect to be heard," assures Hernandez. "We ask a lot of questions, so we know what our patients want and expect, and we make every accommodation possible to fulfill their requests." With a highly trained and motivated staff, Biscayne Dental Group strives to provide valuable, high-quality patient care in a warm and caring environment. "Our staff is highly motivated and unconditionally committed to working together to make the patient experience a positive and memorable one," he explains. "By striving for excellence and maintaining the highest level of training and skills, we're able to offer our patients the utmost quality care. "Jany, our receptionist and office manager, has been with us since we began," Hernandez continues. "She comes with six years previous experience and is the glue that holds the office together. Stephanie, our hygienist, has also been with us since we opened and comes with more than 30 years experience in her field. She is currently an associate professor at Miami-Dade Community College." Two dental assistants, Diana and Ann Marie, previously worked as dentists in their native countries: Colombia and Venezuela, respectively. "Both assistants bring a wealth of knowledge to our office," adds Hernandez. The dental group is an esthetic-driven practice, meaning all treatment decisions and recommendations are made from an esthetic perspective, he reports. "We look at the entire face and see how any treatment can improve a patient's smile, lip position, or facial dimensions. Extensive evaluations are made to determine material selection and color. The results are smiles created that look beautiful and, most of all, natural. We tell our patients that every treatment should blend in and look like you were born with beautiful teeth." Biscayne Dental Group is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday to Friday, and is located at 2125 Biscayne Blvd. Suite 510, Miami. Questions? Call (305) 572-1600 or visit www.biscaynedentalgroup.com.
