and industrial innovation. Its manufacturing operations incorporate CNC machinery, laser technology, computerized controls, and robotic painting systems, allowing the company to execute complex designs with precision. Yet Agardy believes technology has limitations. “When a project requires a unique piece, an organic shape, intricate carving, or a finish that must be perfected by hand, the experience of a skilled craftsperson becomes indispensable.” This philosophy is reflected in Vessel, a sculptural wooden bathtub inspired by naval architecture that received recognition at Marbella Design & Art in 2022. The project illustrates how traditional woodworking techniques can produce unconventional contemporary forms. “We continue to invest in new technology while preserving traditional skills and the knowledge passed down through generations,” Agardy says. Why Miami, Why Now? For Agardy, Miami was a logical destination for the company’s American expansion. Having worked extensively in South Florida’s construction industry, he recognized opportunities to introduce RGS Europe’s integrated manufacturing capabilities to architects, developers, and interior designers. “What I saw was an opportunity to bring a level of customization, technical expertise, and integrated execution that was not always easy to find in the U.S. market.” Miami’s international clientele, ambitious developments, and increasingly sophisticated design community make it particularly attractive. However, Agardy identifies two characteristics that distinguish the market: individuality and urgency. “Clients in the luxury market want something distinctive, something that cannot simply be purchased from a catalog. They want their homes and commercial spaces to reflect their own identity.” The city’s demanding construction schedules also require careful coordination between design development, production, and installation. From its Coral Gables headquarters, RGS Europe intends to strengthen relationships with local professionals while exploring additional American markets, including California and Las Vegas. Redefining Luxury Interiors Agardy sees a fundamental shift in how affluent homeowners and developers approach interior design. Rather than selecting individual components from different manufacturers, clients increasingly seek cohesive environments in which architectural elements share a unified visual language.
