Gulfstream G550: a Night Sky in a Private Cabin
Back aboard the Gulfstream G550, that attention to living patterns operates within an existing aircraft. Working with VIP Completions, the brief was to design a high-end aircraft interior, balancing residential comfort with the spatial and technical demands of aviation. Inside the cabin, eucalyptus paneling is paired with custom-designed seats and dado panels upholstered in Garrett Leather, while Tapis Corporation Ultraleather covers the upper panels and Loro Piana cashmere brings softness to the stateroom divans. Technology is integrated with the same restraint: an ALTO Aviation audio system and Plex media server are built into the cabin without disrupting its visual calm.
Despite the scope of the refurbishment, the entire transformation was completed in eight weeks in 2025, within the strict certification and technical requirements of aviation. The project later received the Best Interior Design – Business Jet award at the International Yacht & Aviation Awards, recognizing for its combination of bespoke design and craftsmanship.
