Making an Impact Webb’s commitment to using storytelling to inspire positive change came to life in Medellín, Colombia. While filming Chef on Tour, he met Andrea, founder of Mi Barrio Mi Sueño, a nonprofit supporting more than 200 families in Comuna 3. He discovered that 147 families lacked a stove to prepare meals at home. “When I found out that their biggest challenge wasn’t food but 147 families not having a stove to cook in their home, I felt compelled to do something about it,” he recalls. Webb organized a private dinner for 26 of his high-net-worth clients, personally covering the food, beverages, and team compensation while inviting guests to contribute. The evening raised enough money to provide all 147 stoves. “We achieved the goal of securing the financial resources for the 147 stoves. THAT IS IMPACT,” Webb says. The experience demonstrated how personal connections can create meaningful change. Asked what advice he would offer others, Webb encourages people to use their unique strengths to help communities. “How can people leverage their superpowers to drive real, genuine impact to help a community or organization that is either close to their heart or soul (alma)?” he asks. “The answers lie with us understanding that it takes a village and not just financial resources to see results.” Through Chef on Tour, he hopes to spotlight nonprofits and community leaders, inspiring audiences to volunteer, donate, or raise awareness. A Bigger Purpose At a time when travel content often highlights luxury hotels, fine dining, and beautiful destinations, Webb seeks something deeper. While he appreciates exceptional experiences, he believes travel should also foster cultural understanding, challenge perspectives, and inspire positive change. His experience in Medellín illustrates how a chef’s influence can reach far beyond the kitchen, turning a simple conversation into an initiative that helped 147 families. It’s a reflection of his larger mission: not simply to feed people, but to connect, educate, and inspire them. Through Chef on Tour, Webb hopes to offer audiences more than memorable destinations and culinary experiences. He wants to share stories that leave a lasting impression long after the meal is over.
