Asked what distinguishes Miami’s food scene, Webb points to its cultural diversity and coastal ingredients. “It takes the greatness of the coastal ingredients and peppers in the flavors of Latin America,” he explains. “It is a melting pot and has so much sazón!” He’s equally enthusiastic about the creativity of local chefs. “The Miami culinary scene is bustling with talent, and many ideas start in locations far away but are being perfected in modern ways locally,” he says. “I love the creativity that I am seeing and the evolution of chefs who are moving from the traditional and aren’t afraid to push the boundaries.” Food as Medicine Another important aspect of Webb’s mission is exploring the relationship between food, nutrition, and wellness. He believes greater awareness of ingredients and dietary choices can encourage healthier lifestyles. Asked about foods with potential health benefits, Webb highlights ingredients discovered through his travels. “A lot of fruits, from graviola (soursop) to açaí and acerola, are medicinal in their own right and have really made their way to the mainstream, from capsules to organic pulps,” he says. He also mentions lion’s mane mushrooms and traditional Ayurvedic herbs as ingredients attracting interest in wellness circles. Acerola is rich in vitamin C, while açaí contains antioxidant compounds. Lion’s mane mushrooms are being investigated for possible neurological benefits, although clinical evidence remains limited. Research supporting medicinal claims about graviola and Ayurvedic herbs also varies. While food cannot replace medical treatment, balanced nutrition plays an important role in long-term health. Webb hopes to make these conversations more accessible, encouraging people to consider how their food choices influence personal and community well-being. Stories That Matter One of Webb’s most ambitious projects is Chef on Tour (COT), a developing docuseries centered on food, cultural storytelling, and social impact. The series takes viewers beyond traditional tourist attractions to discover the people and ideas that define destinations worldwide. From artists and musicians to entrepreneurs and nonprofit leaders, Webb explores stories across fashion, technology, wellness, sustainability, and gastronomy. He’s particularly interested in how individuals overcome challenges and contribute to their communities. Through Chef on Tour, Webb hopes to offer a fresh perspective on travel and culture. The project is expanding from Instagram to YouTube, with potential streaming opportunities also being explored.
