Hotel/Gallery - The Betsy Hotel Free and open to the public, The Betsy - South Beach’s property-wide opening celebration will take place on Thursday, December 3, from 8 to 11 p.m., featuring exhibiting artists and artwork throughout the hotel. Programming will include live improvisations by Peter London Global Dance Company, performed before Joseph Dadoune’s artwork on view in the hotel gallery, creating an interdisciplinary dialogue among visual art, movement and music. The Betsy Atrium will feature immersive projections of work by internationally acclaimed Haitian-born artist Édouard Duval-Carrié, whose work was presented at the 60th International Art Exhibition of La Biennale di Venezia. The presentation is curated by cultural storyteller Carl Juste, with art mapping by artistic director Michael Rossi. Additionally, lens-based works by Ricardo Zulueta, exploring theatrical identity, social gesture and public space, will be projected onto The Betsy Orb as part of the City of Miami Beach’s No Vacancy project, for which The Betsy is one of 12 participating hotels. With all programs free and open to the public, The Betsy, a Michelin Key–recognized luxury hotel on Ocean Drive, announces an ambitious lineup of 14 international artists for Miami Art Week 2026, with a focus on fine-art photography and lens-based media. Exhibiting artists include Carlos Andrés Cruz, Joseph Dadoune, Al Díaz, Édouard Duval-Carrié, Meme Ferré, Sonia Hamza, Robin Hill, Karine Paoli, Michel Platnic, Elliott Ross, Andy Sweet, Ray Tenorio, Juan Carlos Zaldívar and Ricardo Zulueta. The Betsy’s co-owner and art curator, Lesley Goldwasser, has curated individual exhibitions throughout the hotel’s diverse spaces, transforming the historic property into a multisensory canvas featuring fine-art and experimental photography, digital media, moving images and site-specific installations. “Miami Beach Art Week presents a singular moment where the global art world intersects directly with the living fabric of our local community," said Lesley Goldwasser, Co-Owner and Principal Curator of The Betsy – South Beach. "Our goal at The Betsy has never been simply to put art on walls, but to build spaces where truth, vulnerability, and genuine human connection guests and visitors can absorb the art without trying. Whether standing under a 360-degree light mapping on The Orb, walking past 26 illuminated SAMO© light boxes (the collaboration between Diaz and Basquiat), or pausing before something of beauty to surprise and inspire, this year's collection celebrates the power of art to bridge our differences and remind us of what truly endures." Goldwasser, a seasoned Wall Street executive, has built an internationally recognized visual arts program across 25,000 square feet of exhibition space. Under her direction, the hotel's curatorial vision focuses on photography as a lens-based medium, bringing together global masters and local creators to explore memory, identity, and human connection.
