Gallery Locust Projects Tania Candiani: Waterbirds: Migratory Sound Flow The work by Mexico-based artist Tania Candiani, originally commissioned for the 23rd Biennale of Sydney and re-imagined for Miami, is a hanging “river” made with tree branches collected from a riverbank in Mexico, many of which are also native to South Florida. The massive, suspended organic shape will respond to Locust Projects’ architecture and reference the waterways and migratory path and birdsong of water birds that pass through the Everglades and South Florida. Cornelius Tulloch: Poetics of Place A new interactive architectural installation by Miami-based artist Cornelius Tulloch in our Project Room recreating a porch of a Miami home that foreshadows a future impacted by climate gentrification and the rapid development that threatens to erase the cultural fabric of our growing city.
