This February, the highly-anticipated barbecue concept, International Smoke, by famed Chef Michael Mina and bestselling cookbook author Ayesha Curry opens its door. Serving lunch, dinner and happy hour specials, International Smoke explores global approaches to fire, grilling, and smoke to create flavorful dishes that stemmed from both Mina's and Curry's world-wide travel and individual experiences with a variety of cuisines. The 200-seat restaurant will form part of Aventura Mall's new contemporary outdoor oasis and will mark the brand's third outpost as part of a wildly popular collaboration between the two tastemakers, which began as a pop-up in San Francisco. With exceptional restaurants in the Miami area over the past 10 years including Bourbon Steak and STRIPSTEAK, Chef Mina continues to extend his award-winning presence in South Florida with International Smoke. At his newest restaurant, guests are invited to taste his techniques that have built a legacy reinterpreted through a modernized globally diverse menu. "Miami's diversity, adrenalin charged culture and love for worldly cuisine made it the natural next step for our expansion plans. This city already feels like home to me and holds a big space in my heart. The more I get to know the locals and food scene through my restaurants, the more I want to continue to be a part of the community by introducing new dining concepts enhanced with some Miami flavor," says Chef Mina. "At International Smoke, guests can expect a menu crafted with global flavors that are balanced by pairing an array of spices with delicious meats and fresh local produce to create dishes that are truly dynamic. Executive Chef Jeffrey Hileman will be a huge asset to the International Smoke team as his Florida knowledge and input will be crucial in expanding the diversity and talent while creating our new menu." "Our global influences are reflected in the way that we cook, and we wanted to translate that into our concept for International Smoke. The restaurant embodies an upscale barbecue restaurant featuring unique dishes that are prepared with traditional techniques as we embrace elements from several cultures," says Ayesha Curry. "I look forward to elaborating on my signature spicy and risk-taking cooking style to create a flavorful menu that I know the Miami crowd will appreciate. Overall, there is a pulse of excitement and anticipation throughout the entire team as we look forward to introducing International Smoke to the eclectic Miami restaurant scene." The whimsical dishes at International Smoke are craf ted from the best smoking and grilling secrets from around the world. Miami will play into the tast y equation thanks to E xecutive Chef Jef frey Hileman who has craf ted a menu that highlights local ingredients from local farms and vendors along with an array of international spices, produc ts and cooking techniques. Signature items include Smoke Burrata with beets, mandarins, Calabrian chili and curr y; Sinaloa Chicken ser ved with flavor ful sweet potatoes, avocado, pickled red onion and salsa match; and Smoked Korean Shor t Rib with stick y rice, kimchi, scallion and jalapeño. Foodies can also expec t to tr y the staple Wagyu Shaking Beef dish, famously known for its decadent presentation and savor y sauce display as it is seared table-side in a sesame-soy marinade and ser ved on top of a bed of ginger gem let tuce with banh mi pickles and nuoc cham. Smoked, grilled and treated just like the meaty options, the veggie-full menu includes dishes like the Roasted Cauliflower served with golden raisins; Za'atar and pistachios and Grilled Miatake Mushrooms seasoned in soy ponzu, yuzu-tofu and togarashi; and the Barbecue Sweet Potatoes.
