PEOPLE Lisa is so over the moon with enthusiasm when she speaks of this partnership that one cannot help but wonder if she attended summer camp as a child. “I did,” she said. “I loved sleep away camp. One of the things at sleep away camp is that it gives you a sense of independence. You get to be away from your parents in a place that’s safe, where you get a chance to explore new things and even in just getting to know yourself a little bit better in a different way. And instead of having just a locker at school, you get to have your own bunk.” And Floridians It’s hard to believe she can manage “In conjunction with her CD, Camp Lisa, she launched her own —Lisa was in town for the show! “I was at the first performance and some of non-profit, The Camp Lisa Foundation, that helps underprivileged kids attend summer camp...” the rehearsals,” she said. “I also appeared on a lot of TV and radio stations, at Barnes & Noble and summer camps.” She even sang the National Anthem at a Marlin’s game. The Marlin’s played the Texas Rangers. Hmmm. Wonder who she rooted for in that game. The same day she performed live in front of baseball fans, she made appearances on WSFL TV in Ft. Lauderdale, Channel 10 and TYVJ/NBC- 6. The day after opening night for Camp Kappawanna she performed live at Genius Jones Clothing store, Pine Crest Day Camp and the Miami Children’s Museum. The crowds of adoring fans and children took it all in and even received her autograph at the museum. such a busy schedule in addition to taking care of her baby, but she does it with great aplomb. Lisa, married to Roey Hershkovitz, (former music supervisor for Late Night with Conan O’Brien) welcomed their special bundle of sheer bliss, Lyla Rose Loeb Hershkovitz on November 29, 2009. Roey and Lisa met in 2006 at a business meeting in Los Angeles. He was pitching an idea for a TV show where five restaurants demonst rate their unique techniques for preparing the same dish. Lisa was being considered as the host for the show. Although she wasn’t chosen, the meeting certainly wasn’t a waste for either one as love was in the air. At one point they broke up for a short amount of time, but got back together and soon-after he proposed to her in front of a fireplace at the Maritime Hotel in NYC. Just when you thought that was all that was on her plate, there’s more. Especially well-known for her cat-like glasses, which has become her signature look, Lisa has started her own eyewear line, Lisa Loeb Eyewear Collection presented by Classique Eyewear. Now, this may sound a bit cheesy, but her glasses rock! They’re totally chic and designed specifically for the active woman who needs comfort and style. The glasses come in an assortment of stunning colors, inspired by her love of the culinary arts, that can be matched with either black or tortoise shell frames, which will be marked with the title of one of her songs and will include either etchings, rhinestones or other decorative elements. These glasses are specifically designed to compliment all skins tones. The line also features frames for younger girls as well as unisex styles created to attract men. “A lot of people have asked me where I get my glasses,” Lisa said. “A lot of other people say they wear glasses that have my look, so now I can actually provide people with my glasses. I worked with the company that’s distributing them to design the glasses.” The collection will be available for public consumption very soon and a link on her web site www.lisaloeb.com - will be provided listing the names of local establishments that will sell this product.
