"Right now I'm really striving to find peace in the seasons of life." Being able to embrace and exude the Italian culture in this film was something that Spencer prepared for and is thankful to have done. "I've been going to Italy with my manager's family for the past couple of years, so I get the full-blown Italian experience —setting of Rome, grandma making pasta in the kitchen. It's such an amazing culture and I have yet to meet someone who isn't a fan of Italian food," he laughs. Landing the role of Gio didn't happen in a traditional sense. "I was working on my show in L.A. I was out hiking with my dog at the time, when my manager calls and says that a director saw an interview I did on YouTube and is interested in me for his next film. I got the script and it was one of the best scripts I'd ever read. I met with Rob a week later. I'm a huge fan of his work. Working with him has been a standout in my career thus far. I love how he was able to translate this story so beautifully from script to screen." In production for a couple of years now, Spencer is super-excited to finally see Cruise come to life on the big screen. "This movie isn't just a love story, this is a car lover's dream, too. The cars, the setting… all fantastic. The Grand National that I drive is such a sick, sexy car. It's totally a popcorn movie —you'll want to grab your Reese's cups and watch it in the theater." With Cruise and several press junkets on the horizon, it's fair to say it's been a pretty busy summer for Spencer. He recently visited Miami for a photo shoot, for the first time, he adds. "The food was great. The people are the best! There's a very European vibe there. It's so diverse. I actually had the best tuna dish ever at Juvia —shout out to Juvia! I cannot wait to go back!" When he isn't memorizing his lines and working with incredible produc tion teams, the up -and- coming ac tor enjoys going to concer ts, painting, any thing creatively-stimulating, and of course, hanging out with his Golden Retriever, Jack. "Right now I'm really striving to find peace in the seasons of life. There are going to be times when you work, and times when you don't. I want to be consistent throughout the good and the bad. I just aim to find peace across the board." ML Keep up with Spencer on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook @SpencerBoldman
