What originally inspired you to become involved with Make-A-Wish foundation? Shareef Malnik: My wanting to be more like the fine people I met that were so passionate about and committed to the children of Make- A-Wish and to the goal of granting the wishes of every eligible child with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. How did this become a family affair? SM: My dad and mom became Lifetime Benefactors and the rest is history. It's easy once Make-A-Wish gets into your DNA. What's the most rewarding part of being involved with the organization and putting together these events? SM: Granting wishes. Can you talk a bit more about this year 's theme for the ball and how you chose it? SM: Our creative guy on the team, Max well Blandford, proposed it, just as he proposed past themes. It will be an interpretation of "The Mystical Music Box." Think music, dance and costumes. Can you recall some of your favorite "wishes" that have been granted through your fundraisers? SM: I heard of an eligible child that donated his wish to another non-Make-A-Wish child who was in need. Can you imagine the nobility of that? How can some one help or donate , if they aren' t in attendance at this year 's ball? SM: Go on the website, SFLA.WISH.ORG and click DONATE or mail a check to: Make-A- Wish Southern Florida, 4491 S State Road 7, Suite 201, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33314. You can also call 954-967-9474. What other ways can the community get more involved with Make-A-Wish? SM: Call us, email us or write to us and we can find a place for you to volunteer and donations are always welcome. Nancy Malnik, Al Malnik, Gabrielle Anwar, & Shareef Malnik
