Now, Cameron is enjoying figuring out what he wants to do next. "I'm not even 18 yet [he turned 18 on May 28th], so I have a bit of wiggle room. Being on Disney for so long gets the kind of exposure and social media followers, but it also brings this doubt in a casting director's mind. He can act a little, but can he actually be a grounded actor? You kind of have to prove yourself all over again." Cameron's next couple of months will be spent trying to get back into auditioning. "I feel like the first couple of projects might cement who I am as an actor, so I'm trying to be selective but not too picky." In addition to being a talented actor, he's an incredible dancer. Some would even call him a break dancing pro. "I've been blessed with some amazing teachers before they were even legends. I worked with Christopher Scott when he was just a teacher. I got into that scene. I sort of have this huge respect for the hip-hop culture because if you aren't immersed in it you don't really get it. You understand where it stems from and get to see where people come from. They find peace in this world that really sort of brings people together versus tearing them apart. All you can feel is love," say Cameron, who has been dancing since pre- school and got into break dancing around the age of 10. His dance teacher brought him on as a member of the Boogie Brats and created, alongside his four friends, X Mob, their dance group. While Cameron hasn't designed his own clothing yet (I was under the impression he had), he has created his own X Mob t-shirts. We laugh about my assumptions and I try to sell him on making me his business partner when he actually does create his own line. With the amount of talent and determination he possesses, I wouldn't be surprised if he does. It's important to note that even though he's an 18-year-old still trying to figure everything out, his manner and awareness are remarkably mature. Cameron knows who he is and is focused on continuing growth. "I understand that I touch a lot of people and I want to utilize that to the best of my ability. I want to create opportunities instead of waiting for them." ML Keep up with Cameron on Twitter and Instagram @ TheCameronBoyce.
