just for GrokNation, so that's exciting." Now, GrokNation has contributors and an editor. You talk about being a feminist and how you and your ex-husband are raising your boys to be feminists, what does that mean to you? "What it means is that men and women should be given equal opportunities and paid equally for their work. We both raise our boys to understand that women have a unique set of skills that places them in a position to fight the bonds of race, class, and gender that our society presents us with. I'm not raising my boys to not like to be masculine or to hate men or anything like that, which is what most angry people," she laughs, "who don't know what feminism means [think]." I ask because I feel like there's so much pushback on it from people who don't understand feminism. I watch a show called The Last Kingdom, which takes place in 9th century England. Started Season 2, it's very cool. That's really it. I'm not really into watching TV. I've never watched reality TV." What about music? "I like pop music in the car. I was raised on Dylan, things like that. Folk music. I like Neko Case a lot. Elvis Costello." Do you ever get out to Miami? "I actually have family in Miami. My grandparents moved from New Yok to Ft. Lauderdale so I spent a lot of time in Sunrise when I was a kid, but one branch of family lives in Miami. When I was a teenager, we'd go to Coconut Grove. My family is religious, so I go to synagogue when I'm there," she laughs. I was surprised to find out that you're really into cars. "Yes, I like cars a lot," she says so matter-of-factly that it makes the entire room laugh. Ferraris particularly? "Yeah, I do. I like sports cars. I like vintage cars. I drive a stick shift for reasons that people who love cars drive stick shifts. My older son also likes cars, that's something we share in common."
