The Antelope Canyon Collectio The Antelope Canyon collection takes a more intimate angle on the same landscape. Inspired by Arizona’s celebrated slot canyon, the designs are built around a single dramatic ray of light falling through ancient red rock, illuminating organic forms in cascading colour. Sonya responded with three distinct colourways: a charged purple and orange, calming blues and greens, and a quieter study in greys with soft pink — each corresponding to the character of the rock at different hours, and to the feeling of standing inside it. These are not rugs (and runners) that merely illustrate nature; they attempt to capture the experience of it. Every piece is hand-tufted in 100% New Zealand wool by a small team of master artisans in rural India, with a genuine commitment to fair trade and ethical production. Many designs feature Sonya’s trademark carved pile detailing, achieved through a specially engineered yarn twist that catches light and intensifies colour, with subtle variations in pile height that give certain designs an almost sculptural relief.
