In Miami, David managed the groundbreaking construction of 250 Wynwood, a success that paved the way for him to launch ANDstudio in 2015. In 2018, David partnered with his best friend Dakota, expanding ANDstudio to take on new and exciting projects in both the residential and commercial markets. Dakota’s expertise spans both public and private sectors. He contributed to major zoning code rewrites, including Miami 21, aimed at making Miami more pedestrian-friendly. He also served as the design manager for NYC’s “Build It Back” program, overseeing a $300 million budget for Hurricane Sandy reconstruction. Dakota pioneered New York City’s first modular housing program, delivering 100 resilient homes quickly and cost-effectively. MLM: ANDstudio has made quite a mark with its diverse projects. Can you tell us about the firm’s overall approach? David: “As Design Architects, we create both residential and commercial spaces that blend creativity with functionality. We also serve as the Architect of Record for international companies, adapting their designs to fit Miami’s unique environment. Our approach is holistic, ensuring every project is both beautiful and practical” MLM: Could you highlight some of your notable commercial projects in Miami? Dakota: “Our portfolio includes a range of commercial projects from restaurants, like Los Felix in Coconut Grove, high end offices and collaborations with international brands such as Brunello Cucinelli, B&B Italia, Kith, Stone Island, Ganni, Creed, Palm Angels, and Aesop. Currently, we’re working on several exciting projects across South Florida.”
