LATIN FOR GLORY Gloria Hernando, artistically known as Latin for Glory, is a Dominican American multi-disciplinary artist and designer. Her practice explores the intersections between art, design, symbolism, and transpersonal psychology. The emblem and core subject matter of her work is the Bull, which she utilizes to convey the themes of empowerment, strength, healing, and manifestation. She explores these themes in relationship to the human spirit and psyche through a wide range of artistic mediums ranging from fine art to furniture design. Along with her signature Bull artwork, Gloria is developing the ongoing series Elementa, that explores the human connection with the elements of fire, light, earth, water, air, and metal. Through research and experimentation, she studies the physical, cultural, and symbolic natures of each element and transforms her findings into mixed media bodies of work.
