Women of Tomorrow Gala The black-tie Women of Tomorrow Gala, chaired by Marisa Toccin Lucas, at Mandarin Oriental raised about $1.1 million for more than 4,300 at-risk young women in South Florida and beyond. The highlight of this year's Gala was honoring Leadership Award Recipient David Muir, anchor of ABC World News Tonight and celebrity ambassador for Women of Tomorrow. More than 400 guests attended the Gala, including community leaders, philanthropists and celebrities, such as Tinsley Mortimer, star of The Real Housewives of New York City, model Bertil Espegren and reality TV star Fabian Basabe. The event began with a cocktail reception featuring curated hors d'oeuvres conceptualized by the Mandarin Oriental Executive Chef, along with flowing champagne, wine and cocktails. Following was the highly coveted silent auction, sponsored by Bal Harbour Shops and chaired by Gigi Whitman. Supporters were then escorted into the ballroom where they enjoyed dinner and dancing late into the evening to the sounds of the Danny Beck Band. Women of Tomorrow Mentor & Scholarship Program, founded by Jennifer Valoppi, Don Browne and the Honorable Katherine Fernandez Rundle, celebrated 21 years of inspiring, motivating and empowering at-risk young women at the 2019 Gala.
