Let's play ball! If you haven't heard of Frescobol (or Frescoball), you're missing out! As the summer gets rolling, now is the time to play Frescobol — the perfect sandy beach sport that's trending now. Frescobol got its start on the sun-drenched, magical Copacabana Beach in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil during the 1940s. Played with a Vero wood, fiberglass or carbon fiber racquet and a high-visibility red or orange bouncy rubber ball, this game is inexpensive and completely addictive. A mix of badminton and beach tennis, it can be played both indoors and out. Playing on the beach gives you a great workout. Vero Frescobol paddles are handcrafted in Florida — understandable, given the game's beachside appeal — using a marine-grade, honeycomb structured American wood that's highly durable, well-balanced, and lightweight, perfect for long rallies. Each beach paddle is fitted with a grip made from a high-tack elastomer with a raised, padded groove, ensuring that the racquet will stay put in your hand when you swing. The ball's a hollow silica-rubber composite number with just enough bounce, but not so much that it'll go flying out of reach. It'll also float in shallow water, which'll come in handy at the beach. Chances are you've seen frescobol played on our beautiful Florida beaches.
