When did you first realize you were interested in performing? Jorge Blanco: "I first noticed that I would like performing when I entered a school fair talent contest. I didn't know exactly what to do, so I gathered some friends and we performed on stage together as a group of singers, like a boy band. It was a lot of fun, and the next step was a last-minute audition for a Disney reality show, which I was chosen for. From that point, it has never stopped, and I have been working for the last 10 years without stopping --doing TV shows, recording, concert tours, and feature films. I am so fortunate and do not take any of this for granted." How do your experiences with acting and singing differ? Does one influence the other? JB: "I enjoy both acting and music. So far, acting has been most of my career, but for the past few years, I have devoted myself to music and I am enjoying it as I can finally focus on my own music. The creative process of music is influenced by all my experiences, including my acting experiences and simply living life. I feel that creating music is like a reflection of my soul and represents all the experiences that have gone into making me the person I am today." What makes your music stand out amongst other artists today? JB: "I think that each artist has a unique approach to music if they are approaching it honestly. No two people are alike and we all produce music that is unique to each of us. For me, I have been fortunate to have so many varied influences on my musical journey. My parents were into a lot of the older rock music. My Mexican heritage has exposed me to Latin variations, and traveling the world with a large group of fellow artists for several years has been a great experience to bring in a wide array of influence. I guess that all of that goes into my music and hopefully makes me unique." Who are some of your musical influences and how have they shaped your career thus far? JB: "I have been influenced by some of the established rock legends from listening to my parents' music. Queen was always popular in our home. Additionally, I have so many influences that I admire such as James Brown and Elvis Presley. Contemporary influences would be Justin Timberlake, Pharrell, Maroon 5, and many others. I listen to music non-stop."
