You're a model, actor, and singer, is there one you gravitate to more? "Well, I wish I could make a living from playing music, because I absolutely love it. But I can't do both, so I make a living from acting, which I absolutely love. It's my life. The cool thing about being an actor is I can do all of those. If you're actor, of course I can play a character of a model or pretend I'm playing a character and do the thing like I did for this or music as well. I get tired of doing the same thing, that's why I do so many different things, 'cause I couldn't just do one thing. Although, I must say, acting is my #1." Based in Miami's Venetian Islands for almost seven years now, Aarón –who was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and grew up in Palo Alto, California— wouldn't have it any other way. Though his jobs –modeling and acting—take him all over the country, he feels that being situated in Miami makes travel very convenient. "Geographically, it's the perfect center of the world. You can get to anywhere from Miami, very simple. My wife [Lola Ponce] is an opera singer, so we spend a lot of time in Italy and it's very convenient to get there from Miami." Aarón had never considered moving to Miami before coming here to film the myriad Univision telenovelas he has done, but instantly took a liking to the Magic City. "I was like, 'This place is good. I think I'm going to stay here.' And then I started my family there," he recollects. (Lola and Aarón met while starring in the telenovela El Talisman together.) But Miami's greatest selling point, for Aarón, was its proximity to the ocean. You're likely to find Aarón on the water at least five out of seven days a week. Lately, this nature lover-water sports enthusiast has been honing his kite surfing skills. "If I could live on an island, I would. I do live on an island. But if I could live on a deserted island, I would. Remember that movie Waterworld? They all lived on the water. I'm like that. I'm definitely an ocean person," he proudly states. When it comes to going out in Miami, Aarón doesn't have any specific venues he likes to frequent –rather, he takes pleasure in exploring the new places that are constantly sprouting. "We have our group of friends now and we go out to dinner. We go out —same thing as everybody else, except I like to go on the off days," he says with a laugh. "I like to go against the traffic." And if possible, he prefers to venture out via boat or bike versus taking his car. Do you frequently get recognized while you're out in Miami? "Umm, no, not at all." He laughs. "I'm just kidding. Well, yeah, telenovelas are very popular as you know and I've done several of those." Aarón's social media following is to the tune of 4.1 million followers, and that's just on Facebook. "It's interesting because when you're on TV, there's something showing, it gets more chaotic than when you're not. Right now, since I did Quantico and other things, people are like, it's like a double take." He turns his head quickly to demonstrate the looks he receives. "And by the time they go like that again, I'm already a couple of blocks that way." Aarón is quick to add that he loves his fans and appreciates the courage it takes for them to approach him and compliment him and his work. "I don't think there's any other –athletes and artists have that blessing. It's beautiful. I feel like they're part of my family, even if I don't know them. I love them for it." What would fans be surprised to find out about you? "I think they know more things than I do… They just put out the first note a couple of hours ago and my fans are already putting it all over the internet, so they definitely know everything about me, I think. But maybe they'd be surprised to know that I love them just as much as they love me." Aarón's publicist signals to me that we need to wrap up the inter view – he's needed up front to give a speech to the guests. Is there any thing you would like to add? "Yes, we have some incredible cocktails that they made with the fragrance," he teases. Stop! I laugh. "No really. Did you smell this? Smell. Smell. Smell." He leans toward me and of fers up his neck. Ooh, smells really good. "What do you think? Right?" He smiles. "Fresh, masculine, not over whelming, it's per fect," he boasts about the scent. The aforementioned adjectives also describe the handsome man in front of me ver y well – which goes to show that this partnership is indeed a perfect fit.
