Explore Panama's tropical and mountain regions David is Panama's third-largest city and the capital of Chiriquí province, where you can enjoy activities from shopping and casino gambling, or the annual "Feria International de David," a 10- day fair in March that showcases the region's agricultural produce markets. Looking for cooler temperatures and mountain adventures? About 30-45 minutes from David is Boquete, a small town on the Caldera River in the green highlands of western Chiriquí province. Boquete, considered one of the Top 10 retirement communities in the world, is known for its Festival of Flowers and Coffee, its rainforest, and its many outdoor activities including golf, rafting, hiking, ziplining, and biking. It is the home of one of the finest, most expensive coffees in the world, Geisha. Just outside Boquete is the Barú Volcano National Park, home to Panama's only volcano, its highest peak, and several scenic and rugged hiking trails. On the Beach in Panama Panama offers numerous beaches on its Caribbean and Pacific coasts, including many island beaches, where tourists can enjoy swimming, diving, sunbathing, snorkeling, and other water activities. Some of the most popular beaches are Boca del Drago, Cayo Zapatilla, San Blas, Isla Coiba, Santa Catalina, Isla Contadora, Playa Venao, Isla Bastimentos, Taboga, Isla Grande, and Isla Iguana. Located on the northern Caribbean coast of Panama, Bocas del Toro is an archipelago of nine main islands, 52 cays, and thousands of islets. It has been called one of the most biologically diverse places on earth. Bocas del Toro is home to a UNESCO World Heritage Site and Panama's first National Marine Park. Beautiful Red Frog Beach is popular for its crystal clear waters, nearby rainforest, and abundance of exotic wildlife.
