Legend ML: You are keeping good company at TNT, what with Kyra Sedgwick (The Closer), Holly Hunter (Saving Grace), and now Jada Pinkett Smith (Hawthorne), and Dylan McDermott (Dark Blue) leading two new shows. I guess it is true: TNT really knows drama, huh? M-PG: I'm extremely fortunate because we're at the beginning of something that's really, really big. Network, I've been on a couple different networks, but I've never had as much attention given to a show or to its actors as much as TNT is giving us. It makes what we do that much more credible to be in such an extremely creative environment where everyone cares about what we're doing. I wouldn't want to be anywhere else at this point in my life or with Raising the Bar. ML: Will you be doing movies while on hiatus? I think you should play Captain America in the upcoming movie adaptation. M-PG: [Laughs] That sounds good! I think you should run with that. I would love to play Captain America. You should put that out there for me, buddy. ML: You and Natalia Cigliuti both appeared in different incarnations of Saved by the Bell. Do you ever reminisce about those good ol' years? M-PG: No, we don't. We've known each other for quite a while. We may have gone to the same event and said, 'Do you remember this or that,' but I don't think we've done a lot of reminiscing. It feels like two people who went to school in the same neighborhood — as adults you don't go back that far too often. It's certainly helped us with our scenes now that we know each other. ML: What is it going to take to get Zack and the gang from Bayside High together for a burger at The Max? M-PG: I'm not sure. [Gosselaar told ML he would not agree to a reunion just yet when we spoke … but he went on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon in June, in full Zack Morris mode, he announced he was game.] Nothing's been brought up to our attention, but I'm not against doing anything for Saved by the Bell. ML: Perhaps you could set the reunion in Miami? M-PG: Hey, we went to Hawaii, we went to Palm Springs — we should go to Miami. That'd be great! ML Two Scoops of TV Gossip Words by Martin Haro Last May, Adrian Pasdar of TV's Heroes arrived on South Beach to perform with Band From TV (a charity cover band that also features co-star Greg Grunberg, Desperate Housewives' Teri Hatcher and James Denton, cutie patootie Jesse Spencer from House and former Bachelor Bob Guiney) at the Shore Club. Pasdar revealed to me that he will be very much a part of Heroes' upcoming fourth season, especially now that he is taking on more than just one character. Ish. "It's going to be a tug of war between my character and Zach Quinto's," he said. "I can't say much about it, but it's really dynamic how they're writing the storyline. At times it'll be more Nathan, and other times it'll be more Sylar. It's about control and the duality of mankind — good and evil. That sort of thing. "It's a Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde kinda thing." Sounds good, does it not? Another actor I ran into on a night out on the town was Andrew Shue (TV's Melrose Place), at the grand opening of The Betsy Hotel and BLT Steak earlier in the spring. The actor confirmed to me that he will not be appearing in The CW's reboot of the show, but also said he would "never say never." Oh c'mon — Laura Leighton (who played bitchy Sydney) and Thomas Calabro (a.k.a. Dr. Michael Mancini) are reprising their roles. Billy Campbell should make a cameo, too!
