MiAMi LiViNG 101 ML SELECTS Marc Rubin Words by Liz Schulze Curator Jeffrey Rose calls Marc Rubin's Art, "masterfully accomplished and diverse in style, the delight of curators and art collectors worldwide." Indeed, Rubin has long been known for his colorful, versatile works. This frequent Miami exhibitor is a prolific artist whose works are rich in artistic process and highly sought after. He's even shown in The White House. Following his commitment to honor the office of the presidency, Rubin has come up with a stunning portrait of Barack Obama, entitled, "Deep Thoughts." It is as serious and contemplative as the name suggests. Rubin wanted to rip away some of the pop-star mania that surrounds the President and bestow him with the elegance and dignity that these tough times command. Miami's architecture, landscape and vibrant color have always inspired Marc Rubin and their influence can be seen in many of his paintings. He is particularly impressed with the gallery scene here and considers it high-caliber and worthy of the stellar, international renown that it receives. Rubin should know, as his vision has been well- received in galleries all over the world.
