Sebastien: The patent count is now at 202. Teaching is my only true source of inspiration. No one else is doing what I’m doing, so I can’t look to other methods for ideas. I get inspired by the way some of my students move—beautiful form is hypnotic and triggering. My best ideas don’t come from sitting at a desk; they come from the classroom. ML: Lagree Fitness has already made its mark in Miami’s vibrant fitness scene. What has been your experience seeing the method embraced here, and how do you think Miami’s energy and lifestyle complement the Lagree approach? Sebastien: No, Miami is full of ex-licensees turned copycats who are doing a terrible job replicating Lagree. But there’s a huge demand for the real thing. I have more licensees opening studios and I’m expanding The Megaformer Studio chain with my partner. Lagree is perfect for Miami. Can you share how and why long-term visioning plays such a central role in your innovation, and what might you hope Lagree Fitness looks like in 2040? Sebastien: CEOs execute, but visionaries lead. Being a CEO alone doesn’t guarantee success—you have to lead with vision. Visionaries immerse themselves in both the past and the future to understand where humanity has been and where it’s going. I actually love thinking about the future; it’s full of opportunity. My first documentary, Future of Fitness (2013–2017), helped shape some of my biggest decisions. Now I’m working on Future of Fitness Part 2, and we’re integrating AI into our equipment to facilitate large group training. By 2040, Lagree will be the world’s #1 workout. The machines will be server-connected, downloading
