Miami Living (ML): Sebastien, welcome! Before we dive into your incredible innovations and impact, how do you typically start your day? Is there a non-negotiable part of your morning routine that sets the tone for everything that follows? Sebastien: Thank you. Yes—absolutely. I can’t start the day without a good hour to hour and a half workout. Working out sharpens my mind and gives me focus and clarity for the rest of the day. I’m pretty consistent with it and try not to skip. ML: The Lagree Method is famously described as “harder than Pilates,” combining slow, controlled movements with high intensity on your patented equipment. It has also been called a “celebrity fitness secret” and featured in guides like Us Weekly’s “How to Look Good Naked”. What do you think sets the Lagree Method apart from other workouts when it comes to helping people feel confident in their own skin? Sebastien: Lagree is a uniquely intense workout based on bodybuilding training techniques. It’s meant to be hard—it’s engineered to transform the body, unlike some other methods. I constantly curate the method by adding or removing exercises and evolving the equipment. While it’s officially called Lagree 2.0, it’s really more like Lagree 8.0, because the intensity has progressed so much over the past 27 years. Having taught at least 50,000 people, I’ve learned which exercises people love, which ones make them feel sexy and confident, and which truly transform the body. Lagree only focuses on those movements. ML: For people who may feel intimidated by “high-intensity” workouts or worry about injury, what would you say to encourage them to try Lagree and discover the low-impact yet powerful benefits? Sebastien: There’s no easy way to start—you just have to jump in and pace yourself for the first six weeks while your anatomy adapts. At first, you’ll experience intense muscle burn, maybe even feel nauseated, but eventually those feelings fade. And strangely enough, you’ll start to crave the burn. You’ll seek the shakes and feel disappointed if you don’t get sore. ML: With more than 100 (and reportedly over 135+) patents, including breakthroughs like the Megaformer and Supra, what drives that spirit of innovation, and where do you find inspiration when creating something that’s “years ahead of its time”?
