Akivia Bassaragh is an experienced trial attorney who focuses her practice on complex commercial litigation with an emphasis on products liability, toxic tort, and asbestos litigation. She has successfully litigated both criminal and civil matters in both state and federal court. Ms. Bassaragh has extensive experience defending manufactures and retailers in multi-party asbestos-related products liability actions. She was also an Assistant Public Defender with the Miami Dade Public Defenders’ Office where she gained significant courtroom and trial experience.
In addition, Ms. Bassaragh also maintains an active pro bono practice representing the indigent accused in Florida state courts and children in family court proceedings.
