whose flawless taste is indisputable. Voilà —a hotspot is born. Our table is near the bar; undoubtedly the best seat in the house because I have an unobstructed view of the dining room. To begin, Frances brings over two of their signature drinks: the Passion Brulé –heavenly, like drinking dessert—and the perfectly spicy Machete. Suddenly, the music starts pumping and all eyes are on the velvet borne settee in the middle of the restaurant. The show is on: a dance pole, a beautiful woman, a total seduction of the senses. Our appetizers arrive and the place is bustling with pleasure seekers, partygoers and gastronomes. It must be said, there's nothing more enjoyable than people watching while indulging in good food. First come the appetizers: Asian Tacos with tuna and yuzu tofu avocado; the Crispy Betsy, a wonton wafer with yellowfin tuna and truffle aioli; and the Salmon Tartar, which comes with a dramatic presentation involving dry ice. Everything is exquisite. Then comes the entrees: the Haute Living Truffle Spaghetti with wild mushroom and shaved truffle; the Sea bass Balsamic with caramelized sake miso sauce; and the Edo Maki roll with toro, shrimp, caviar and gold flakes. Every bite is pure satisfaction. So satisfying indeed that we're left gasping for air. Finally dessert. As I see the platter coming, I understand that this is entertainment at its finest. A sparkler, orchids, fruit, and in the middle: Pistachio ice cream, Passion fruit tart and Lava cake. I don't have the biggest sweet tooth, but these last spoonfuls seal the deal quite beautifully. Tonight has been about giving into the sensual flavors of haute cuisine and about defining the presence or absence of the wow factor. So, has Myn-tu got it? They sure do.
