Upon arrival, it hits me: this is going to be a—surprisingly—sultry affair. It's a Monday night, so I'm expecting good food, and a fairly quick and early exit. However, something tells me I'm in for an unexpected treat. I walk past the bar and into a Cabaret-infused room, where red drapes cascade over LED-framed mirrors and a collage of rugs invites you to step in. As I sweep my eyes over the 2,500-square-foot Parisian-inspired space, I realize this is not the everyday setup. And then an "aha" moment: this is the tantric bit in "Tantric Mondays." Frances, the maître d', shows us to our table. I'm curious about the Myn-tu name. I'm thinking something witty in Japanese; turns out it's named after its sister venue Mynt, the iconic South Beach nightclub, with which it shares a wall. Romain Zago, Mynt's owner and accomplished entrepreneur, wanted to wow palates while delivering an impeccable and exclusive experience. So he brought on Executive Chef Merryl Villacorta and Sushi Master Seiya Noborikawa, who have headed up restaurants such as Nobu, Blue Ribbon, and Sugarcane, and created a stimulating menu of Japanese and Vietnamese flavors with a French twist.
