EDITOR'S NOTE Ah, summer. It's the one season that feels the most carefree and fun, right? For many of us, it means going on much-needed getaways, guilt-free summer reads, more alfresco activities, and being reunited with treasured TV shows. For Shadowhunters fans, it means the return of Season 2B starring our gorgeous cover star, Emeraude Toubia. The gripping fantasy TV series is a departure for Emeraude, who started out in novellas. "A lot of people think that once you're on a show, like that's it, you're just so famous and it's not true. I mean, for me, I'm just starting to really learn how the industry works. There's so many things out there that I feel are still a learning process for me. That's a surprise to me. You think you're going to book a series and that's it, and it's not like that. It's something you have to keep working on and it's just the beginning," said Emeraude, when we sat down for this interview in May. The actress talked about Shadowhunters, her relationship with Prince Royce, Miami, and what she wants to do next. An admirable role model, she is a strong woman, who has been using her far-and-wide-reaching platform to speak out about issues important to her, like roles that box Latinas in. Here is a woman, who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go out and get it. You can bet that you'll be seeing a whole lot more of this rising star as this is just the beginning of what is sure to be an amazing, enduring journey. Enjoy!
