The Beverly Hills Hotel In West Los Angeles, lies the celebrated neighborhood of Beverly Hills, known for its much-coveted zip code 90210. A drive down Sunset Boulevard can be quite a treat, especially on a cool, sunny day, with its views of renowned shops and restaurants, landmark venues, and towering palm trees. At the corner of Sunset Blvd. and Crescent Drive lies the entrance of the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel, a centurial landmark that attracts a list of celebrities, financiers, entertainment industry events, and more. At the beginning of the 20th century, developer Burton Green bought land once owned by the Mexican government in the foothills of Santa Monica Mountains with hopes to ignite a land rush. In 1907, the land once named "Rancho de Aguas" was renamed "Beverly Hills" after his home in Beverly Farms, Massachusetts. A few years later, Green hired Margaret J. Anderson for her vast experience as a business woman and hotel manager along with Architect Elmer Grey to build the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel. Designed with a Mission Revival style on a 12-acre land, the hotel soon lured wealthy easterners to retire in what were then open bean fields. It only took a couple of years for the fields to be transformed into prime real estate as Hollywood stars started to build their homes. Charlie Chaplin, Gloria Swanson, Buster Keaton… were all homeowners. The Beverly Hills Hotel embodies Hollywood glamour with its highly recognizable features like their classic pink walls, banana leaf wallpaper, and magnificent Art Deco-style.
