For those who prefer to be inspired by fashion icons, take inspiration from the late, great Jackie Kennedy whose White House Christmas card showed her off in a classic red dress with her signature pearls tucked into her collar. Pearls are always the right accessor y for winter, because they are heav y enough for winter layers, while being delicate enough to work with cocktail dresses and work attire. Take a page from Chanel's runway looks and drench yourself in layers of pearls for a more fashion-for ward take on this classic, or opt for Audrey Hepburn elegance with draped pearls and an open back Givenchy gown. Look to Oscar de la Renta to provide an interesting take on the strand of pearls (they added a giant pink silk bow). Of course, this is not for the faint of heart. If you aren't quite ready for something that bold this holiday season, opt for classic Cartier gems alongside pearl earrings from Chanel. You can always go for the classic one strand from Mikimoto for that little black dress too, if you are feeling more conser vative (it's the classic candlelight and carols standby). As for those looking to give this season, think bespoke with treasures from Sophie Breitmeyer in London (word on the street is that even the Duchess of Cambridge has a piece from her). Meanwhile, Pippa Small offers collections that are a bit rawer in design and utilize semiprecious stones. Lola Fenhirst brings modern lines to bespoke jewelr y, something that is perfect for springtime in Miami. The bottom line is, this Christmas don't waste time endlessly scouring shops for the perfect holiday outfits, rather wear something you have, buy something that sparkles, grab a glass of champers, and go deck the halls and fa-la-la-la.
