SCOOP Miami Star Report STAR SIGHTINGS Words by Martin Haro Yo, yo, yo – how's your summer going, Miami?! It. Has been. Bananas, has it not? I mean, honestly, really, what was with all that late- spring-early-summer rain? And that heat? And that Miami Heat? C'mon – world champions, kids (just as we predicted in our August 2010 issue…GTS.) Bet y'all had all kinds of funsies with that, but the Star Sightings actually started back in April with, what else, a party/trunk show that Lisa Pliner hosted at her Miami Beach PPR (OK, if you don't know that means…) for our Housewives – you know, Lea Black, Adriana De Moura, Marysol Patton, and Joana Krupa, as well as the inimitable Elaine Lancaster. Bow Wow played host with the most when he made an appearance at Cameo, while Dave Chapelle was spotted living it up at Wall at the W South Beach. Nicki Minaj picked supa-hella well when she chose to celebrate the release of her Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded at LIV at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach, drawing out Fred Durst – remember him? – as well as Birdman and Lil Wayne. Mario Lopez, who had just been in Miami for the Blacks' Annual Gala like, just a week before, came back to town, this time with his fiancé, Courtney Mazza, to host a Garnier Fructis event at the 'bleau. The pair made it a romantic affair and enjoyed everything the resort has to offer like only they could – hotly. Cutie-patootie Brad Goreski eluded my grasp when he hit the Magic City to make a stylish appearance at an Ocean Drive event at the Loews Miami Beach, while that funny ball of fun Ross Mathews and his partner checked in at the Hotel Breakwater and enjoyed the beyond-delicious fare of chef Todd Erickson at Haven South Beach. Marc Anthony brought out his PYT, Shannon De Lima, for a night on the town when he hosted a dinner in honor of the launch of his Maestro Cares Foundation at The Forge. He was joined by an intimate group that included his pals Chayanne and Marco Antonio Solís, and he then moved the party to the Shelborne South Beach for a bigger celebration. There, he was joined by the hotel's mastermind, Keith Menin, as well as Miami Housewife Alexia Echeverria. Akon celebrated his birthday at Cameo, while Anthony Mackie – in town to shoot the Michael Bay project Pain and Gain with the still-delectable-didja-see-the-pics-of-the- guy-on-the-beach? Mark Wahlberg and Dwayne Johnson – got his Miami-party on at Wall. The guy – most recently seen in Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter – was having such a good time, I hear he bought quite a few shots for a few lucky gals, and was happy to pose for pics with fans. Wahlberg, btw, was spotted having family time in town, hitting the beach at the W and having many a meal with his friends as well, at Bianca at the Delano Hotel and Adam Levine put on a sexy, awesome show with Maroon 5 at the iHeartRadio Ultimate Party at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach. 108 MIAMI LIVING Enrique Iglesias made a special appearance at the iHeartRadio concert – boyfriend is tall! Elizabeth Banks met with press for her movie People Like Us at the Mandarin Oriental Miami.
