CONTRIBUTORS MIAMI LIVING 13 Martin Haro As one of our most-senior contributors (celebrating 10 years with Miami Living in 2015), no matter where he goes (after two years back in his native Lima, Peru, he is currently living in San Francisco), Martin will never leave the Magic City behind. "I just kind of…can't," he says. And for good reason. Miami not only was his home for more than 12 years, this, he explains, is where he cut his teeth as a writer, reporter, editor, and blogger. "Whether I was working at my alma mater, Florida International University, as associate editor of F I U Magazine and staff writer for FIU News, or running around the beach for ML or as a stringer for Us Weekly, or sending sweet celeb gossip to E! Online's Ted Casablanca as his – self-appointed – 'Desk SoBe,' I just loved Miami. I still love it. I mean, it so is home to me..." He has covered the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim, both its film fests, and so much more, and delivered many a star profile, mouth-watering restaurant feature, and transporting travel piece – while keeping a blog, moviemartin.blogspot.com, on all things pop culture. Martin is focusing on settling in the Bay Area…on zeroing in on a new professional challenge (he's considering a screenplay or even a book).
