Oppenheimer Pumpkin pies, costumes and celebrations with family are all staples for a great holiday. The perfect time to be with loved ones -why not adopt a pet before the festivities begin? There are many homeless animals that would like to join a home filled with joy, warmth, and kisses under the mistletoe. Caring About the Strays has plenty of rescues waiting to be adopted before all the movement and excitement of holiday parties. Live animals are never, ever, good holiday gifts. The recipient has to be ready for this sort of commitment. Come January, ice cream makers can be exchanged, but pets are life companions. Hey, here's an idea! Announce your desire to gift a dog or cat with a pretty card -- this gives the recipient an opportunity to accept (or not) such an important and serious commitment and to choose the perfect lifelong partner. Finding a pet is like love at first sight. It has to be just right. Perhaps Lilly is the one? She is a black Dachshund Mix, who would look adorable posing for photos in a cute hat for Halloween --if she stays put long enough for such a thing. A little energizer dog, (around 20 lbs.) she is ready to fill someone's life with adventure. Only 2-years-old, she has experienced the bad side of mankind; being thrown out of the window of a moving car onto a busy highway has not affected her will to be happy. She deserves to be wanted forever, and she knows it. The world revolves around Lilly. She would be better as a one-and-only pet basking in all the attention. Lilly is not afraid to use tactics such as extreme adorableness: constant Top: Lilly Left: Wesley Right: Frasier Bottom: Kayla licking and kissing and big browneyed soulful looks, in order to get it. Kayla is the opposite of lighting bolt Miss Lilly. Kayla is a dignified lady that enjoys the wonders of life in a calm and graceful fashion. This 2-year-old Labrador mix has lived her life on the streets of Overtown. It is time she gets to show her elegance, without the worries of street life, in a home of her own. Caring About the Strays rescued Kayla along with her nine puppies. All have found loving homes. This great mom deserves the same. Love comes in the form of a fur ball that is 3-year-old Frasier. As the self-appointed Welcome Ambassador, Frasier loves everyone and is always the first cat to greet new rescues to the group. This brown tabby is perfect for a home with many brothers and sisters. Unlike last weekend's horrible blind date, he is not a picky dude. Frasier will love both human and furry friend, just as is. Unconditional love, is there anything better? As a contrast to Frasier, Wesley is a little shy when meeting new people. But honestly, this happens to everyone at least once in a lifetime. Once comfortable, he is a white and grey fur ball of love and the perfect lap cat. Curl up with Wesley and a good book and recover from all the holiday hoopla and chaos. Spay and neuter. It is the responsible and kind thing to do. Do not bring any more kittens and puppies into the world when so many are in dire need of homes. Adopt today. Caring About the Strays | PO.
