My Picks SOTER VINEYARDS Come for the Pinot, stay for the Highland cattle. Soter’s Mineral Springs Ranch is a 250 acre Demeter certified biodynamic farm, and the Provisions experience is the one to book, pairing the wines with food grown and raised on the property. It feels less like a tasting room and more like being invited onto a very beautiful working farm. DOMAINE DROUHIN Burgundy royalty in the Dundee Hills. The Drouhin family has been making wine in Oregon since 1987, helping establish the valley’s global reputation for Pinot Noir. Their Oregon portfolio continues to rack up acclaim, with Roserock Pinot Noir named No. 6 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 Wines of 2024. BEAUX FRÈRES One of the names that helped put Oregon Pinot Noir on the map. Its 2014 Beaux Frères Vineyard Pinot Noir landed at No. 3 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100, and the 2018 vintage returned to the Top 10. This is the one for the person in your group who really knows wine. DOMAINE SERENE Finally, there is the one with the current buzz. Domaine Serene’s 2023 Aspect Pinot Noir just won Best in Show with 97 points at the 2026 Decanter World Wine Awards, selected from nearly 17,000 wines worldwide. If you want to taste the bottle everyone is suddenly talking about, book this one. Must Stay The Allison Inn & Spa is one of those rare wine country gems that gets nearly everything right. Set on 35 acres in Newberg, it feels quietly luxurious, deeply connected to the landscape with an incredible spa, and extraordinary foliage especially in the fall. There are gardens, vineyard views, a serious spa, and JORY downstairs for a dinner that makes staying in feel like the better plan. After a day of tastings, this is exactly where you want to end up. Considered one of the most authentic Japanese gardens outside Japan, come for a morning walk and stay for tea overlooking the trees. Photo credit: Rebecca Saltonstall
