The new route marks a major step forward for the island, which sits just 50 miles off the coast of Florida and has long been known for its beaches, fishing culture, and laid-back atmosphere. Often referred to as “The Gateway to The Bahamas,” Bimini has attracted travelers for decades, including Ernest Hemingway, who spent time on the island and drew inspiration from its waters. Today, visitors continue to come for deep sea fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, boating, and easy access to some of the clearest waters in the Caribbean. The island also offers several well-known attractions, including the legendary Bimini Road, often associated with stories of Atlantis, the colorful Dolphin House museum in Alice Town, Radio Beach, Honeymoon Harbour, and the S.S. Sapona wreck site. Accommodations range from boutique marina resorts to larger beachfront properties such as Resorts World Bimini. Other popular stays include Bimini Big Game Club Resort & Marina and Bimini Cove Resort & Marina.
