ML: Many spaces in the home feature custom millwork and statement lighting. How do these details enhance both the aesthetics and functionality of the interiors? SG: Every detail of the millwork and lighting was tailored specifically to this home, so the spaces feel both artful and unique. For the architectural lighting, we collaborated with Apure, whose discreet fixtures allowed us to maintain clean ceilings and in turn gave us the freedom to incorporate dramatic, large-scale decorative pieces. The custom millwork became the foundation of the design—by carrying a warm matte walnut throughout, we introduced a moodier, richer atmosphere that grounds the modern architecture while adding depth and warmth. ML: Looking back at this project, what stands out most to you about bringing the Petersons’ dream home to life in Miami Beach? RV: What stood out most was the incredible freedom the Petersons gave us to experiment with materials and push creative boundaries. SG: The expansive scale of the spaces challenged us to develop innovative millwork techniques that introduced layers of depth and character, ensuring the home felt both dynamic and deeply personal.
