Hours For those of us planning our schedules, here’s what to know: the private, invitation-only days kick off on Wednesday, December 3, with First Choice access starting at 11 a.m. and a VIP Preview session from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday follows a similar pattern with extended access and a Vernissage VIP session in the late afternoon. Public days are simpler: from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday, you can wander through the show, coffee in hand, enjoying everything at your own pace. Location All the action takes place at the Miami Beach Convention Center, right at 1901 Convention Center Drive. If you’ve been to the city before, you know the Convention Center is smack in the middle of the Design District and South Beach, so you can easily turn your art day into a full Miami experience with food, drinks, and a stroll along the beach. Sectors Art Basel isn’t just one big hall of paintings and sculptures—it’s thoughtfully organized into sectors that make it easy to navigate. Galleries showcase works from international artists, both rising stars and established masters. Meridians is where you’ll find large-scale, dramatic projects curated by Yasmil Raymond, while Nova features recent works by one to three artists, giving you a sense of what’s fresh on the scene. Positions is all about solo exhibitions from emerging artists, and Survey takes you through galleries exploring historically significant practices. There’s also Kabinett, with curated exhibitions inside individual booths, and Conversations, a space for live talks with cultural thought leaders. It’s designed so even first-timers can get a full, layered picture of the contemporary art world.
